The Manuscript

Some objects are designed.Others are discovered.

The Manuscript belongs to the latter.

Its story began with a forgotten length of discontinued Italian silk, woven years ago and never to be produced again. We discovered the final remaining fabric and chose not to replace it, but to preserve it.

At first glance, its colour appears to be brown.

Stay with it a little longer, and it quietly changes.

In different light it becomes aged walnut, faded burgundy, dark ink, old paper and shadow. Like a manuscript that has rested on a wooden desk for generations, it never reveals itself all at once.

Its ornamental motif reminded us of the small typographic ornaments once used to separate chapters in old books.

That quiet discovery became its name.

The Manuscript is handcrafted using a classic three-fold construction with a wool interlining, allowing the silk to retain its natural softness while giving the tie a balanced drape and elegant knot.

The blade measures 8 cm, with a 150 cm overall length—proportions chosen for timeless versatility rather than changing trends.

Inside, only a discreet handwritten signature remains.

No prominent logos.

No unnecessary decoration.

Only the object itself.

Approximately thirty ties were created from the final remaining length of this fabric.

Of those, only twenty will ever be released.

The remaining pieces have been reserved for the Univers Elian archive and for future gifts to people who become part of its story.

Once the twenty have found their owners, The Manuscript will quietly come to an end.

It will never be reproduced.

Not because scarcity was planned.

Because some stories deserve to remain exactly as they were written.
